Smartwatch for iPhone and Android to make a difference
Dew Motion launched the iStick Playtime, the world’s first flexible,
thin¬film electronics smart watch, on Indiegogo today. The iStick
Playtime is built to endure all of life’s conditions indoors, outdoors,
or underwater. It features a flexible e¬ink display, joystick control
and built in voice command that keep you connected in places no smart
watch has gone before.
The iStick Playtime connects to your Android or iOS device via
bluetooth. The lightweight, flexible form factor and simple one button
control make it comfortable to attach it to your wrist, arm, or to your
handlebars.
The ergonomic design makes it easy to adjust the low energy display to the optimum position no matter the setting.
By connecting to the
Dew Motion app, users can listen to music, activate Siri or begin
tracking their athletic performance. It uses Bluetooth 4.0 and has a
rechargeable lithium ion battery that lasts a week on a single charge.
The iStick Playtime works in conditions down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit and is water-resistant.
Outdoor enthusiast, athlete and Buddhist Dew Motion founder, Frederic
Blouin said he “wanted my next company to be the extension of my
personality and passions rather than my own ambition.” The design of the
iStick reflects Blouin’s passion for all extreme/outdoor sports and
simple UI on the go.
Dew Motion hopes to raise the last $250,000 they need to fund
manufacturing and distribution in North America. Early Bird pricing
starts at $75. iStick playtime is expected to retail for $150. The
project was launched on Indiegogo on April 24th, 2013.
